Wild Westios | DI Week 3 - Post 2
This title makes reference to a creative exercise you can find in the book "Creative Boot Camp" by Stefan Mumaw. And as you might have guessed, we're going to teleport back in time.
The exercise goes like this: get in teams of two. You are charged with writing down as many cereal box toys as you can think of if boxes of breakfast cereal were around during the nostalgic era of the American Wild, Wild West. Write down as many as you can in 3 minutes.
Here are some ideas for toys in a Wild West cereal box:
- Bandana
- Horse figurine
- Cowboy figurine
- Cow figurine
- Train figurine
- Toy gun
- Hat
- Rope/lasso
- Sheriff's badge
- Saddle
This exercise is great for generating ideas; the thing is to not get stuck. Even if you think your ideas get more silly the more you think, it's good to have options. Let your mind flow!
