Tattoo Design | DI Week 1
This week, as I started my course in Digital Illustration and got to know the basics of Adobe Illustrator, I was assigned to create a personal color tattoo.
I really like tattoos, but my taste in style and design ideas change constantly, that's why I don't have a single tattoo to this moment because I haven't decided on what to get on my body, so this task was a little difficult for me, I didn't have any concrete ideas but as time passed I thought about some elements that have some meaning for me and starting creating some ideas and ended up with this design...
THE ELEMENTSAn hourglass: as a reminder that time is precious and we can't get it back, so the best we can do is keep going, one day at a time. We decide how we spend it, so choose to spend it with the ones you love, doing what you love to do. Some days are better than others but every single day counts.
Butterflies: these beautiful insects are a good example of what resilience means, and I feel like a resilient person or at least try to be one.
COLORS
For this step, I didn't think that much. Black is an elegant, sober color, so I used it as a base, then for the sand, I found that yellowish color which I feel makes a good match, and as for the butterflies I made them blue because It's my favorite color, it makes me feel in peace. And I like the solid look I got in this design.
A BIT OF THE PROCESS
I used some images as a reference to create my design and used tools like Pen, Curvature, Shape Builder, Fill and Stroke, and different Shapes.
This project was challenging, but I enjoyed it from start to finish.
What would your tattoo look like?
