Instant Storyteller | DM Week 4 - Post 2

This creative exercise from the book by Stefan Mumaw, Creative Boot Camp, asks for the following: close your eyes, and rotate your head left and right. Then open your eyes and focus on a single object in your view. For the next two minutes, tell the fictional story of that object. It can be about how it was made, what experiences it had, or how it came to be in that place.

THE STORY OF A LAMP

perchance.org

In the quiet town of Lucille, an unusual lamp appeared in the window of a local antique shop. No one knew where it came from, but its soft, gentle glow caught the townspeople's attention. As it turned out, the lamp had a unique origin; it was crafted by a skilled artisan named Zurg from a far-off galaxy called Lumos.

Zurg, fascinated by the charm of Lucille, left the lamp behind during his travels on Earth. The townspeople, oblivious to its extraterrestrial origins, simply appreciated the calming radiance it brought to their community. Over time, the mysterious lamp became a symbol of unity, attracting locals and visitors. Lucille bathed in the warm light of the celestial lamp, became a meeting place where earthly and extraterrestrial beings shared moments beneath the unassuming glow of a lamp with a story that spanned the cosmos.
