Reproducing a Photo | DP Week 4 - Post 2

For this week's creative exercise, I tried another one I found in the Steve Byland Nature Photography blog.

Try to reproduce a photo you like: this can be fun at places where they sell postcards of the local sites. Copying a professional can give you some insight as to composition, lighting, and such. In grade school, it was called “cheating” and you’d get expelled. In business, they call it “benchmarking” and reward you. Of course, you shouldn’t be afraid to add your own creative touches as well.

I tried to reproduce with what I had at the moment, a product photograph I found on the Captain Crunch Instagram, as I liked the composition and colors in the photo.

And I got, as a result, the following photo:

One of the challenges I faced during this "photoshoot", was getting good lighting, as I did it outside with natural light. I think I got a pretty good result, but there's always room for improvement.
