Macro Photography | DP Week 3 - Photo Specialty

Via Google

Macro photography is a close-up photograph of small subjects, showcasing them larger than it is in real life. It involves capturing an extremely detailed and magnified image. Macro photography is used in fields like science, nature photography, product photography, and more.

Macro photography allows the photographer to explore the intricate details of the small world around us.

For this activity, I made use of a mood board for inspiration, a macro lens attachment for the phone, and went to a park to look for subjects to photograph.

Some tips to capture stunning macro photos:
  • Use a macro lens: they are already designed to focus at extremely close distances.
  • Extensions tubes: to extend the lens's focusing distance.
  • Close-up filters: these allow you to get an even closer look at the subject.
  • Macro flash: specialized flashes or ring lights to provide an even illumination of the small subjects.
  • Tripod and manual focus: for stability and to avoid a blurry subject.
  • Reverse lens technique: some photographers reverse a standard lens to achieve macro capabilities.
